    Aloha! My name is Rebekah, and I’m the owner of Snorkel Off The Beach Maui. As your float coach and snorkel guide, my goal is to make sure you feel comfortable, safe, and supported while experiencing the magic of Maui’s underwater world.

    Over the past 5 years, I’ve lead hundreds of snorkeling tours off Maui’s most stunning beaches. I believe that snorkeling should be enjoyable and accessible to everyone, regardless of their abilities. For that reason, I specialize in helping non-swimmers, families with children, guests with injuries and disabilities, and anyone who simply wants a calm, gentle introduction to snorkeling.

    I grew up on Long Island, New York, in a family of fishermen and commercial lobstermen, so I like to say I was born with salt water in my blood! Before moving to Maui, I worked as a counselor in a housing program for people recovering from mental illness. That experience taught me patience, compassion, and the importance of making people feel safe and supported when trying something new. Those same skills now shape the way I work with guests in the ocean.

    In 2020, I moved to the magical island of Maui and quickly fell in love with the Pacific Ocean. I still spend all of my free time in the water exploring Maui’s incredible reefs. In fact, my love for the ocean led me to earn my Professional Association of Diver Instructors (PADI) Open Water Diver Scuba Diving Certification, and shortly after, I completed a Freediving Instructors International (FII) Level 1 Freediving Certification. 

    Snorkeling has the power to connect people with the ocean in a truly special way, and it’s an honor for me to share that experience with my guests. I’m stoked to meet you on the beach and take you on an incredible snorkeling adventure!

Yes! We provide all of the equipment you need to have an awesome time out in the reef! We will provide you with a mask and snorkel, fins, as well as various flotation devices to help you feel comfortable and confident in our beautiful ocean.

Not at all! At Snorkel Off the Beach Maui we specialize in working with people who do not know how to swim. We provide all safety and flotation devices. We even provide one-on-one float-coaching in waist-deep water to help non-swimmers gain confidence before the snorkel tour begins. Non-swimmers will be holding onto a float. Your guide will always be right by your side, towing you around through the reef. You just focus on your breath - we will guide the rest!

Absolutely! We have developed a great system for safely taking non-swimmers snorkeling. The swimmers in the group can just swim right along with us! Our experiences are fully customizable and are tailored to your group’s comfort level. Regardless of swimming abilities, everyone is sure to have a blast out there in one of our magical Maui reefs!

Approximately 2 hours including the time it takes for a safety briefing on the beach, snorkeling in the reef and transferring your photos after the tour. We find most guests enjoy snorkeling for about an hour, but, we are always happy to spend some extra time out in the reef with our guests if they are part mermaid/merman!

All snorkeling tours are off the beach, there is no boat involved in this experience. Snorkeling location is chosen based on where ocean conditions are calmest and safest on the day of your tour. All tours are run on either the west side or the south side of the island of Maui. We will be in touch with you the day before your tour to provide you with all instructions and meeting location details!

Our snorkel tours begin in shallow waist deep water. 

It’s very likely that we will see Hawaiian green sea turtles during our tour! We are very good at finding those cute turtles to show our guests, but since they are wild animals, we can never 100 % guarantee that we will see them during the tour. 


We love taking children out snorkeling and seeing their excitement! We have found that our tours are best suited for children 5 years and older. If you are traveling with a baby or toddler we can take you out individually while one parent stays on the beach with the child.

Yes! We bring our underwater camera on every tour and provide beautiful photos of the whole experience. You’ll be able to download your photos immediately after the tour!

We understand plans change! Cancellation requests made 72 hours or more before your tour will receive a full refund. Because we are a very small business, cancellation requests made within 72 hours of the tour start time cannot be refunded. We appreciate your understanding.
